Weekend at Lake of the Ozarks

Scott and I decided to get away for the weekend. We both needed a break from life as we know it. Seeing as its October in Missouri, there wasn't many good touristy places to visit. We did decide to go to Lake of the Ozarks for two nights. Scott's brother-in-law is a police officer down there and we were able to stay at his place. We didn't really have anything planned but we had a great time. It was nice to just relax and not worry about anything. We didn't get to leave St. Louis until about 7:30pm after I got off work. Needless to say, Friday night didn't hold much excitement for either of us. Saturday morning we got up and ate a delicious breakfast at Denny's. It was completely and utterly terrible for me, but it was absolutly worth it! Next was time for a little shopping! YAY! I got Scott to go shopping a little with me. Although, it was really more for him. He needed to go shoe shopping, so that was the true goal. Although I did slip into a few stores, especially the Cosmetic Company!! We then had some ice cream and headed to play putt-putt golf! I have played many times but this was Scott's first time ever.

We battled back and forth on score and he finally beat me by one stroke on the last hole! It was a great game and we had a lot of fun! After that game it was time for a nap. We ate dinner at Outback Steakhouse for Scott's birthday. Then on Sunday, we went and had a late breakfast at Shoney's and headed home. I did stop in Fulton, MO where I used to live many years ago and drove around town and looked at how it had changed and many things that were still the same!

Meet Scott

Meet Scott! Most of you don't know him just yet! Scott is my boyfriend and we got together back in August. The story behind us meeting is just this...... My sister Angie called me one day and told me that there was a guy that worked with her husband that she thought I should meet. I wasn't really all that gung hoe on meeting anyone right now. I wanted to finish school and find love later. She wanted me to go on a blind date with this guy and I told her no way. I haven't done a blind date before, I don't want to start now. She finally convinced me to do a double date with her and her husband. I didn't know anything about this guy except that he is 6'5". So immediately that put a positive spin on things. She assured me that she wouldn't set me up with someone totally off the wall. This date was to be about 2 days after she convinced me to go through with it. I went not really expecting anything to come of this date. I figured it would be one of those "oh, that was fun" kind of dates and we would both go our separate ways, especially since he lives south of Fredericktown and I live in St. Louis. That is about 1 1/2 hr drive. Little did I know that things were going to go so well. So, this is Scott and his son Luke who is 6 yrs old.
So that is the little story behind us. I never wanted to give a blind date a try and now I highly recommend it! I never thought I would find someone as fabulous as Scott. Things couldn't be better! We are together every chance we get.
